
BMW's involvement in the ever-growing Formula E just got even deeper. The German car manufacturer has been named an official manufacturer team for the 2017-2018 season, according to a press release from BMW.
BMW currently works with the MS Amlin Andretti team on engineering efforts for the 2016-2017 Formula E season. The automaker has also been the official supplier of safety cars since the first year of the racing series, with its i8 electric car handling the duties. Now, the relationship between BMW and Formula E is set to grow even closer.
“Since its inaugural season, Formula E has enjoyed rapid development and is now regarded as a high-level racing series,” said BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt in a press release. “BMW
Audi, Jaguar, Renault, and Faraday Future are among the other car manufacturers currently involved in Formula E.
